Forest County Emergency Management administers the process to assign uniform addressing for municipalities and the 911 system. To apply for a Physical Address - Fire Number assignment please return the attached form.

Wisconsin Credentialing and Asset Management System (WI-CAMS) is a state-run system designed to manage the credentialing, tracking, and certification of barious assets and professionals within Wisconsin. It helps streamline processes related to licensing, certifications, and other credentials, ensuring that all necessary records and information are maintained and accessible for efficient management and oversight. Forest County Emergency management maintains the WI-CAMS credentialing process for Forest County First Responders. Duties

 

Forest County Emergency Managements duty is to utilize effective all  hazards planning, training and coordination to continually develop the  mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery capabilities of Forest  County and the jurisdictions within it.

To accomplish this mission  Forest County Emergency Management encourages everyone (including local  governments, businesses and individuals) to:
1) Make a Plan
2) Make a Kit
3) Be Informed

Forest County Emergency Management responsibilities include:

  • Develop     emergency management plans for Forest County consistent with Federal and     State emergency management plans.
  • Coordinate      and assist in the development of municipal and tribal emergency  management     plans and integrate such plans into Forest County's  Emergency Management     Plan.
  • Direct     Forest County's Emergency Management Program.
  • Coordinate     with non-governmental and volunteer disaster response organizations. 
  • Direct     Forest County’s emergency management activities during a disaster     declaration.
  • Coordinate     with municipal, tribal, county, state and federal response agencies and     officials. 
  • Perform     other duties relating to Emergency Management as required by the Forest     County Board of Supervisors.

Forest County All Hazard Mitigation Plan is a strategy developed by local governments to identify and reduce the  risks of natural and man-made disasters within a county, aiming to  minimize damage and protect public safety. Forest County Emergency Management is  responsible for updating this plan regularly to ensure it reflects  current risks, resources, and effective mitigation measures.

Wisconsin Disaster Fund – A State funded reimbursement program to allow local governments to  recoup costs incurred while responding and recovering from disaster  incidents.  

Information Guide for Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act-   The EPCRA Right to Know Act requires businesses to report on the storage, use, and release of  hazardous chemicals to ensure the public and local authorities are  informed about potential chemical hazards in their communities.

WISCONET Crandon Weather Station – The Wisconsin Mesonet(WISCONET) is a growing network of weather and  soil monitoring stations across Wisconsin, designed to provide high  quality data and more than one dozen measurements every 5 minutes.  Forest County has one WISCONET Weather station located at the Crandon  Airport. 

National Weather Service - Green Bay – Forest County falls under the Green Bay office of the National Weather Service.
